Larry Bukovey

Larry was born and raised in the Akron, Ohio area and while attending Cuyahoga Falls High School (Class of 1983) was bitten by the proverbial “Acting Bug” while performing in productions of “Brigadoon” (yes, he did have to wear a kilt and received the coveted “Best Looking Legs” award) during his Junior year and “Hello Dolly” during his Senior year.

Since moving to Lakeland, Florida in December of 1990 (and boy has he moved: Lakeland > Largo > Tarpon Springs > Tampa > Holiday and now Clearwater... at least for a little while), Larry has been involved in a number of stage productions, TV commercials and independent short video/film projects in the central Florida area.

Improvisational comedy has been at the heart of all that Larry has been involved in since 1998, when he entered the strange and bizarre world of improvisational comedy at SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando, first as a volunteer, then a student and finally performing as a “Lab Rat”.

Larry has studied improv at SAK University with Ryan Smith, Lyle Moon, Lauren Pritchard, Lisa Frederickson, James Newport, Megan Whyte and Jay Hopkins; with Mitch Osborn at Comedy Buffet (Winter Haven); a Second City Tour Company; Kari Keller (Second City – LA); Jill Bernard, Mark Sutton, Stacey Hallal and Asaf Ronen (www.yesand.com) at the Miami Improv Festival (MIF) 2005 and also with Dave Razowsky (Second City – LA), Mark Sutton (Annoyance Productions – Chicago) and Eli Newell (United Citizens Brigade – NYC) at the MIF 2006 (www.miamiimprovfestival.com).

Larry is planning on returning to play again with Comedy Buffet (Winter Haven) this summer (to sign up for an e-newsletter, contact comedybuffet@yahoo.com).

He is very excited and honored to be a part of this tremendous ensemble of actors and is very, very proud of his fellow performers. He would like to thank God for this opportunity and thank his family and friends for their support.
